* The youth account can be opened from 14 years of age, and can be held until the account holder reaches the age of 19, or has completed their further education (but not beyond the age of 21). For young persons under 18, their legal representative must agree to the account being opened.
** With the youth account, fees are charged by Clearingstelle Payment Services Austria GmbH for any cash dispenser withdrawals and POS transactions outside of the EU area.

Conditions for opening a Youth Account?
  • You are a student, apprentice or currently doing your civil service.
  • Must be 14 years of age or older.
  • When opening an account under 18 years, the agreement of a legal representative is required.
Do I get a bankcard as a teenager?

Yes, you get a free Maestro debit card with your Youth Account.

Where can I withdraw money with the Maestro debit card?

With the Maestro debit card you can make cashless payments and withdraw cash worldwide. Within the EU area youwill pay no fees. Fees apply for ATM withdrawals and POS-transactions outside the EU area.

How safe is the Maestro debit card?

The Maestro debit card is protected by:

  • your personal identification number (PIN)
  • new chip technology
  • limited cash withdrawals and card payments
What is the contactless payment function?

It is also known as Near Field Communication (NFC). You can make payments up to the amount of EUR 25,- without a PIN code entry or signature on all transaction points that are marked with the NFC icon and/or the PayPass logo. Paying quickly and securely has never been so easy.
